About Furnish Together
I'm in the middle of moving house, furnishing it one room at a time while a few unpacked boxes are still sitting around. My partner and I needed somewhere to keep track of the furniture we were both eyeing up, and what we had was me emailing her random product links and a list saved offline in my phone's notes app.
Furnish Together is what I built to fix that, for us and for anyone else furnishing a place with someone else.
It's a shared wishlist, organised room by room, that you can both add to and vote on from your phones. No accounts, no sign-up forms, just one link you both use. See the full feature list for the specifics.
A side project, built while I use it
I'm not a professional developer, I write about technology, and I built this in the evenings as a side project. My partner has been the actual beta tester the whole way through: when we couldn't decide between a handful of sofas, we used Furnish Together itself to compare prices and check what was actually in stock, then picked one once the budget allowed it.
Why no accounts?
Setting up a new home isn't a task that needs passwords. That was a deliberate choice, not just a shortcut for building this alone: land on the homepage and you can have a list with its own private link in under 30 seconds, nothing to fill in first.
What it's not
It's not a furniture shop, and it's not trying to be one. You bring the links from wherever you're browsing, Furnish Together just keeps them organised and lets you both weigh in, which is most of what actually helps when you're trying to agree on furniture together.
We still haven't agreed on the living room TV: I want it enormous, my partner says any bigger and it'll feel like sitting in a cinema, and not in a good way.
